Cookie Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Say the Date only uses the ones needed to make the service work and keep it secure. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of and we don't show a cookie banner.
Cookies we set
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| std_session | Keeps hosts logged in. | Until you log out, or 30 days |
| std_oauth | Used only while you sign in with Google, to make the sign-in safe. | 10 minutes |
| std_preview | Lets our team open the app before launch. | Up to 1 year (team only) |
Other browser storage
- Photo album name: if you add a photo to an event album, your browser remembers the name you typed so you don't have to type it again. It stays on your device only.
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the site and may set a short security cookie to block bots and attacks. Its login check (Turnstile) works the same way.
- Google Fonts provides our fonts. It doesn't set cookies, but your browser connects to Google to load them.
- OpenStreetMap shows maps on invitations. It doesn't set cookies.
- YouTube: if a host adds a video, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn't store cookies until you press play.
Turning cookies off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Invitations and RSVPs still work, but hosts need cookies to stay logged in.
